The PE Department are offering all students a fantastic opportunity to watch Manchester United v AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League, at Old Trafford, Manchester on
Thursday 12th December 2019. The trip offers students the unique opportunity to see some of their heroes within a safe and enjoyable environment whilst also witnessing some of the first class facilities our country has to offer. We feel that it also shows students what can be achieved with the correct attitude, hard work and dedication.
A payment of £10.00 is required which includes the cost of transport, insurance and the match ticket. Students need to be at the Academy car park at 4.00 pm at the latest, as the coach will leave promptly at 4.30 pm. We are expected to arrive back at The Laurel Academy car park at approximately 11.45 pm/12 midnight. Please note that students must attend the academy as usual the following day. Students MUST be collected from school as we arrive back late in the evening. If your child has a mobile phone, they can text you with an approximate time of arrival back to The Laurel. If insufficient funds are received then the trip will have to be cancelled. There are 48 places available for the trip.
As an Academy we have the right to refuse a pupil, a place on this trip if we deem their behaviour to be unacceptable prior to Thursday 12th December. In order to be considered for the trip your son/daughter needs:
- Above 95% attendance from the date of this letter to the day of the event
- Avoid any instances that lead to a day in the Reflection Room
- Be fully up to date with their Hegarty Maths
A full refund will be given if your son/daughter was unable to meet the expectations of the trip and therefore not allowed to attend.
Payment must be made via Parentpay (you should already have an activation letter regarding Parentpay). If you encounter any problems using this service, please telephone the academy to speak with the Finance department.
If you would like your child to take part in this fantastic opportunity, letters are availble from Mr Oldfield, please ask your child to collect one and there is a reply slip on that needs to be handed back in to The Laurel Academy's reception, by 22nd November. Please be aware that if there is a lot of interest in the trip I will be offering places based on a lottery style draw once the expectations previously mentioned have been taken into consideration.
